About Mandarin House

An exquisite, fully equipped historical house in the old centre of Koskinou, Rhodes’ most beautiful village. The house dates back to 1889 and was renovated in traditional methods and styles.

It was named after the mandarin tree in the courtyard, which also benefits from a lovely dining area, perfect for BBQ's.

This house is an impressive example of both elegance and tradition and must be seen to really appreciate all that is has to offer.

The main House

This home is simply stunning and offers 110sqm of beautiful and functional living space over two floors.

As you enter inside the house from the courtyard you walk into a beautiful and bright living space wich is visually extraordinary. An amazing mosaic pebble floor, soaring ceilings, central stone archway, and a open fireplace are just a few of the highlighted features.

Upstairs, the breezy bedroom features romantic whitewashed decor, built-in storage, and an en-suite bathroom.
The ground floor bedroom is equally charming with a cosy wood burning stove for chilly winter nights and double doors which lead out into the private courtyard.
The high-raised sleeping area with the double bed, overlooking the living area and is accessible by a solid wooden staircase, makes it an ideal third sleeping area for visiting family and friends.

Doors from the living room open out to the courtyard with a delightful secondary dining area which is suitable for entertaining up to 8 people.

In addition to the courtyard there are three private terraces.

The first terrace has a romantic hanging bed, where you can take a nap or spend the night.

The second terrace offers a beautiful view of the church bell tower.

The top terrace boasts amazing sunsets and panoramic views of the village, Symi Island and the Turkish coast, and has sun loungers for private sun bathing.

What makes this property so special is not just the house itself, but also its location in Koskinou, which, with its colourful historical architecture and winding alleys, is arguably Rhodes’ most beautiful village. Luckily, its charms have not yet been discovered by mass tourism, but locals of Rhodes certainly know to appreciate it, not least because of its cosy tavernas, which offer live music and excellent Greek food. You will feel privileged to be staying in such a unique house located in a lovely unspoiled village.

The house is situated in the car-free old centre of the village, at the end of a street so you have no passers-by. You will be able to explore the narrow streets, the local cafes, bars and shops. A butcher, grocer and bakers shop are all nearby. A car or scooter (which we can arrange for you at very affordable rates) will allow you to explore further and discover the surrounding areas and maybe the whole island.

Some of Rhodes’ most beautiful and secluded beaches (e.g., Tassos, Anthony Quinn, Ladiko) as well as the medieval Rhodes town are less than 10 minutes away. This is what will make your holiday and time on Rhodes so memorable.
